Vegas Rock Revolution's Planet Desert Rock Weekend V - Full Poster

FIREBALL MINISTRY / Los Angeles, California

[Music | Fireball Ministry (bandcamp.com)]

Fireball Ministry has been rocking stages since the late 90s. They have shared the stage with legendary bands such as Judas Priest, Blue Öyster Cult, Alice Cooper, Danzig, Anthrax, Slayer, Rob Zombie, Motorhead, Uriah Heep, Dio, Megadeth, and many others. This heavy rock band delivers great riffs by Emily Burton and magnificent song compositions by Jim Rota.

UNIDA / California Desert

Desert rock legends Unida have proven over the years that their riff-driven heavy rock style has stood the test of time. With John’s blessing, Unida has continued to get out there and blow away crowds with the high-energy style that guitarist Arthur Seay plays. Unida will be headlining Night 1 of PDRW V at Count’s Vamp’d.

MOS GENERATOR / Port Orchard, Washington

[Music | Mos Generator (bandcamp.com)]

Mos Generator has been rocking for over 20 years and is led by Tony Reed, a monumental force within the heavy rock industry. They have always created music that ranges from straightforward heavy rock to heavy psychedelic and prog rock, elevating above many others. They will play with the original lineup and perform songs from the early Mos Generator catalog!

VALLEY OF THE SUN/ Cincinnati, Ohio

[Music | Valley of the Sun (bandcamp.com)]

Super-pumped that Valley of the Sun is returning to Planet Desert Rock Weekend after their performance at the inaugural event. Led by frontman Ryan Ferrier, they deliver straight-up heavy, rocking desert rock that sticks with you. Their recently released album on Ripple Music secured a top spot on Vegas Rock Revolution’s list of the year’s top albums.

JIRM/ Stockholm, Sweden

[Music | JIRM (bandcamp.com)]

Ripple Music’s JIRM (formerly known as Jeremy Irons + the Ratgang Malibus) has built its reputation on an epic sound with each release, regardless of the evolution and creativity of the album. Their music can range from light, summery psych songs to dark, tinged songs describing inner turmoil, all accented by amazing vocals. JIRM’s album ‘The Tunnel, The Well, Holy Bedlam‘ landed at #4 on the Doom Charts for March 2022. This will be their first time performing in the United States.

SERGEANT THUNDERHOOF / Somerset, UK

[Music | Sergeant Thunderhoof (bandcamp.com)]

These Brits have blown away fans in the U.K. for years and released album after album of amazing heavy rock for the world to hear. Highly touted for their live sets, but their recent album ‘The Scripted Veil‘ took the scene by storm with incredible soaring vocals and superior songwriting. Landed #1 on Doom Charts for June 2022. This will be their 1st and only show in the States in 2025!

SOLACE / Ashbury Park, New Jersey

[Solace | Spotify]

Solace is a band we’ve admired for years, and having them as part of Planet Desert Rock Weekend is super exciting! These guys have been killing it on stage since around 1996 and have produced a signature sound: part metal and part heavy rock. Their two guitar attack and strong vocals drive their style. Solace has played all over Europe, including the Roadburn Festival, and toured with Orange Goblin but has never played shows out west. We are excited to have these New Jersey legends coming out to join the Planet Desert Rock Weekend V festivities!

SAMAVAYO / Berlin, Germany

[Music | Samavayo (bandcamp.com)]

This German trio has been releasing excellent heavy rock since 2003! Their evolution of sound and influence has changed some over the years, but at their core, they are a heavy rock band that writes rocking, catchy songs yet gets you moving. They have played with many of the top bands in the world, whether on tour or at a festival. Samavayo’s album ‘Payan‘ landed #2 on the Doom Charts for March 2022. This will be their 1st time playing the USA!

MR. BISON / Tuscany, Italy

[Music | Mr Bison (bandcamp.com)]

Mr. Bison has been one busy band since appearing at Planet Desert Rock Weekend II. Their latest album, ‘Echoes of the Universe,’ has made a fantastic splash in 2024, including landing #2 on the Doom Charts for February. Mr. Bison has continued to evolve and challenge themselves, including adding a new member who is a multi-instrumentalist. We can’t wait to have them back and hear the new stuff live! Mr. Bison is part of the Heavy Psych Sounds label.

FIRE DOWN BELOW / Ghent, Belgium

[Music | Fire Down Below (bandcamp.com)]

Since their 2017 release, ‘Viper, Vixen, Goddess, Saint,’ they have done a masterful job of blending desert rock, stoner rock, and grunge elements together to make music so easily accessible to people who want to rock. Their 2022 release, ‘Low Desert Surf Club‘ on Ripple Music, landed #5 on Vegas Rock Revolution’s end-of-year list and #3 on Doom Charts for September. This will be their 1st time playing the USA!

OMEGA SUN / Koper, Slovenia

[Music | OMEGA SUN (bandcamp.com)]

Returning to Planet Desert Rock Weekend is Omega Sun, whose recent 2023 release ‘Roadkill‘ captured many rocker’s ears with their powerful blend of heavy rock, doom, grunge, and stoner rock. Recently, the guys had the great fortune of opening up for USA supergroup The Winery Dogs and have embarked on a European tour. We love to bring back bands to the PDRW fold! Their ‘Roadkill‘ release landed #9 on the Doom Charts and VRR’s end-of-year list at #6 in 2023.

SONS OF ARRAKIS / Montreal, Quebec, Canada

[Music | Sons of Arrakis (bandcamp.com)

Early on, Vegas Rock Revolution has been touting and working with Sons of Arrakis, and after initially hoping to have them as part of PDRW IV last time, we are excited to have them now for 2025! Their sound is an outstanding blend of heavy rock, heavy psych, progressive, and stoner with a backdrop of being a Dune-themed band. Their debut album landed at #2 for 2022 on the VRR end-of-year list, right behind PDRW alumni Freedom Hawk (2). Their album landed #1 on Doom Charts for July 2022 and #8 overall for the year. SOA is finishing their second album, which will be released on Black Throne Productions.

GODZILLIONAIRE/ Lawrence, Kansas

[Music | Godzillionaire (bandcamp.com)]

Godzillionaire is a heavy rock band out of Lawrence, Kansas. They feature frontman Mark Hennessy, formerly of the ’90s band Paw, which rose to popularity with the album ‘Dragline’ and their track “Jessie” has over 2,500,000 listens on Spotify! Their most recent album, ‘Negative Balance,’ made a strong ripple in the scene with its creative textures and substantial vocals by Mark. A new album will likely be out by the time PDRW V happens. This will be a rare show for Godzillionaire outside of their regional Kansas.

GREEN DESERT WATER / Oviedo, Spain

[Music | Green Desert Water (bandcamp.com)]

Green Desert Water returns to Planet Desert Rock Weekend after setting the stage on fire with its performance at PDRW v2. This Spanish power trio is all about groovy bluesy-based rock with psych tinges! It is a very electric live band with two albums and an EP to their credit. Both albums placed in the top 10 VRR albums of the year.

THE WATCHERS / San Francisco, California

For those on the fence, here are some excellent reviews from past events:

Planet Desert Rock Weekend in Las Vegas is an absolute must for rock enthusiasts! The event offers amazing sound quality at both locations, creating an immersive experience for every performance. The lineup is a perfect mix of talented bands, including an international showcase that brings incredible acts from around the world to the stage. What truly sets this festival apart is the unique opportunity to interact with the bands, making it a more personal and unforgettable experience for fans. Whether you’re a die-hard rock fan or just love live music, Planet Desert Rock Weekend delivers in every way! Highly recommended!” – DJ from Orlando, FL

PDRW is a load of fun! And the fact that many fans continue to come back year after year is a testament to the well-curated line up of rockin’ bands, awesome venues and staff and strong camaraderie in the crowd. You always leave with more friends than you arrived with and what better place to do this than Vegas! John Gist puts a lot of effort into this festival and it shows. We can’t wait to go back!” – Debbie from Oakland, CA

I attended Planet Desert Rock Weekend this year and I’m really looking forward to it again next year. The shows don’t start until the evening, so you have a chance to see other sites in Vegas. It’s not overwhelming like some festivals can be. No multiple stages and no overlapping performances, just one great band after another with about 20 minutes in between to have a smoke or grab a drink. I attended alone and was a little nervous but half way through the first night it felt like a big party and we were all there together. I met a bunch of cool people and some of the band members were very approachable and friendly too. See you in Vegas hopefully!” – Andy from NYC
